How we research, review and correct our content
Our guides are meant to be used by real providers making real decisions. This page explains where the information comes from, how often it is reviewed, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
Last reviewed:
People-first, question-first content
Every guide on this site exists to answer a question a provider actually asks. We lead with a direct answer, then explain the detail, the exceptions and what to do next. We do not publish pages that exist only to hold a keyword, and we would rather maintain a smaller set of genuinely useful pages than a large set of thin ones.
Where an answer depends on your circumstances — your registration groups, your workforce, your audit scope — we say so instead of giving a false single answer.
Official sources come first
Where a question is settled by the regulator, we follow the regulator. Our primary sources are the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, the NDIS Practice Standards and associated rules, the NDIA for scheme and plan-management matters, and state and territory worker screening units. Where a topic touches other regulation — for example licensing, insurance or building work — we point to the relevant official body rather than paraphrasing it loosely.
Guides list the official sources they rely on so you can verify anything yourself. Requirements change, and the current position published by the Commission always overrides anything written here.
Review dates
Each guide and checklist displays the date it was last reviewed. That date reflects a genuine review of that content against current published guidance, not an automatic timestamp. If a page carries no review date, it is because we have no verified review date to show, and we would rather show nothing than invent one.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, out of date or unclear, tell us and we will fix it. Send the page address and what you believe is incorrect through our contact page, or call 03 5911 1456. Substantive corrections are made to the page and the review date is updated.
Commercial independence
We sell registration support, so we have a commercial interest and we state it plainly rather than hiding it. That interest does not change the advice: our guides tell you when registration is not required, when a task is straightforward enough to do yourself, and when your money is better spent elsewhere.
We do not accept payment to recommend an auditor, and we cannot influence any auditor's findings or the Commission's decision. Approved quality auditors must be independent of both you and us.
No guaranteed approval
We never claim guaranteed registration, guaranteed approval or a guaranteed timeframe. Registration decisions are made solely by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on the evidence before it. Any service claiming to guarantee an outcome is describing something it does not control.
What this content is not
The information on this site is general information for Australian businesses. It is not legal, financial or clinical advice, and it does not take account of your specific circumstances. For advice about your own situation, engage a suitably qualified professional or contact the Commission directly.
Authorship
Content is published under organisation-level authorship as the NDIS Provider Registration Editorial Team. We do not attach individual bylines, invented credentials or claimed years of experience to our pages.
