After you submit your application, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission provides the Initial Scope of Audit. The provider then engages an approved independent quality auditor to complete the audit. The Commission assesses suitability and makes the registration decision.
Audit pathways
Two broad audit pathways apply to NDIS provider registration. Which one applies depends on the supports you intend to deliver.
Generally applies to lower-risk and lower-complexity supports. Verification is typically a desktop review of required documentary evidence such as your business details, insurances, qualifications and a smaller set of policies.
Generally applies to higher-risk or more complex supports. Certification involves a broader assessment against the relevant NDIS Practice Standards, usually including interviews and a review of your systems in practice.
Your final audit type is determined by the Initial Scope of Audit issued by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
