The auditor is independent — and so is the decision
Your audit must be conducted by an approved quality auditor that you engage and pay directly. We are not an auditor, we cannot audit you, and no consultant can guarantee registration. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission determines your registration groups, scope of audit and the final outcome.
Verification vs certification — an overview
Your audit pathway follows your registration groups, and it drives most of your cost and preparation time.
Verification audit
Generally applies to lower-risk supports. Usually a desktop review of documents such as insurances, worker screening, qualifications and core policies. Faster and lower cost.
Certification audit
Generally applies to higher-risk supports such as supported independent living and behaviour support. Involves a stage 1 and stage 2 assessment against the applicable NDIS Practice Standards, usually including interviews and participant contact.
Why generic template packs create audit risk
Downloadable policy packs are cheap because nobody reads your business into them. They usually describe a generic organisation with staff, committees and processes you do not have.
Auditors do not just read documents — they test whether the documents describe what actually happens. A policy that says you hold monthly clinical governance meetings you have never held is worse than no policy at all, because it demonstrates a gap between your stated system and your practice.
The most common corrective actions we see come from that mismatch: procedures that reference roles nobody holds, forms nobody uses, and registers nobody maintains.
What happens after registration
Registration is a starting line, not a finish line. Registered providers are expected to keep policies current, maintain worker screening records, manage incidents and complaints, and evidence continuous improvement — all of which is reviewed again at your mid-term and renewal audits.

- No. Nobody outside the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission can guarantee registration. A consultant can make your application and evidence as complete and accurate as possible; the decision remains the Commission's.
- Do I need a consultant to register as an NDIS provider?
- No — you can register yourself. Providers usually engage help because scoping registration groups and producing audit-ready documentation is time-consuming, and rework after audit findings is expensive.
- Is this NDIS registration help available outside major cities?
- Yes. We work with providers Australia-wide, remotely by phone, email and video. Your auditor may attend in person depending on your audit pathway.
